How to care for your suit ?
After having spent a good amount of money on your suits you wish to carry on it for long time and that requires a good amount of care. But by saying good amount of care does not mean that you have to spend your time and money regularly for your suit’s care. You can just follow the simple steps to keep the suit lively and ready to wear anytime you need.
First thing comes in the row to maintain the life of your suit is its cleaning. And we have the option of dry cleaning only but make sure how often you get the suit dry cleaned. Dry cleaning of suit should go according the times you wear your suit. since in the dry cleaning instead of use of water, a solvent of
Tetrachloroethylene, which not only helps to clean the fabric but also increases the life of fibers. For that matter you should get your suits dry cleaned at least once in a month if you wear it regularly(once in a week). You should also avoid wearing suit in a consecutive days for both not being commonist and
for long life of suit.
Next thing comes in this line is ironing and ironing directly links to the fibers thus it has to be of the exact required temperature. To avoid the fabric being killed by ironing always prefer steam ironing.
Steam ironing gives the fabric an adjusted temperature to shine and sustain even for long odd hours. And woolen fabrics gets rejuvenated with steam ironing.
After these two methods comes keeping the suit in wardrobe. Where you must know how to hang your suit and fold your suit and how to keep inside the suitcase while traveling.
As we say the suit should be hanged in a broad shouldered hanger which helps the suit maintain trimmed and shoulders don’t get loose. Broad shouldered hangers keep the suit in shape always thus you don’t have to necessarily iron it every time you go outside. And the pant of suit should always be single folded. Cuffs of your suit will be better kept covered with a paper till the cuff links, since it will help to keep the cuffs away from dirt and cuff links shining will also last long.
When traveling to places, you must keep your suit in such a manner that folds should not affect the shape of the suit. The way to fold it is to turn the shoulders back from near to lapel. And breast portion should be folded towards back side. You should always keep your suit inside a cover generally come with the suit when you purchase it. It saves your suit from dust and worms.
