Tips on Selecting Lingerie
In lingerie you have 3 basic types – bras, panties and the nightwear. Nightwear is pretty much a personal choice, so this article will focus on the choice of bras and panties. The purpose of these is to protect the most sensitive parts of our body. But lingerie can also put zing and confidence into your private life. You just have to know what to buy.
Shopping for bras:
- Knowing your size is important.
- Take or wear one of your old bras.
- Stand straight – not too stiff but without slouching.
- With a tape measure, encircle beneath your bust and jot down the measurement.
- Always add four inches if after measuring you come up with an even numeral. Add five inches if the measurement is an odd number. This is your bra size.
- To find your cup size, the fullest part of your breast is where you place the tape measure – at the tip or the peak. Get the bra size and subtract this number from it.
Eg Bra size minus peak size and check the following guide:
. Zero = A Cup
. One inch = B Cup
. Two inches plus = C Cup
Think about the reason for purchasing the bra. Obviously there are different types of bras for different purposes – a t-shirt bra will not look good with an evening gown. In addition, if you just need a casual brassiere, it is possible to save a lot if you pick a basic style.
Think about these:
- wire or non-wire: Wires are created in the contour of the bra to give fuller support.
- Lacy bras are useful for low neckline dresses or dresses with eyelet fabric.
- Push-up bra: This is useful for women with big breasts as it gives more lift and combats gravity. It has the ability to make your bust line to appear fuller.
- Convertible bras s are used for sleeveless or strapless tops. They give you the choice of a criss-cross, ordinary strap or strapless all in one bra.
- Padded or not: Padded bras enhance the appearance of breast size. If you wear an A cup consider padded bras for a sexier feeling.
- Choose your color. There are a choice of colors for bras out there – picking bright colors can give a cute look, but most ladies prefer neutral tones. Go by this guide – nude is popular, black is plain sexy and white is purity!
For Panties:
Just like for bras, you must know your size. This is a simpler task as most panties come in a range from extra small (XS) to extra extra large (XXL). Also there should be a waist and hip measurement indicated on the tag. These are some of the style you can select:
Lacy: Go for it, don’t just wait for the honeymoon
T-back: Butt cheeks will be exposed
Bikini-cut: As it sounds – as sexy as a bikini
Hi- cut: This will cover the navel
Low- cut: Top of panties will go just above the hipline
Choose your colors. Why not go for red? It’s the sexiest color!
