Hollywood Type Diets – What are the Problems?
You seen them on TV and in the tabloids all of the time. Hollywood type diets that the starlets supposedly have used to lose dramatic amounts of weight in a short amount of time. The before and after pictures usually show some hollywood actress walking on a beach sporting a bikini that is too small for her to begin with with unsitely cellulite and bodyfat visible everywhere. The picture next to it shows a new and improved version of the same person looking much leaner and trimmer with a heading that reads “learn how so and so lost 27lbs. in under 3 weeks!”
Did that person truly lose that much weight in such a short time? Possibly but the likelihood that she will keep the weight off is not good. The way that she went about losing the weight is not healthy or good for her in anyway. Did she use some magic formula to lose such a dramatic amount of weight? Probably not. This type of weight loss occurs from dramatically depriving the body of food and water.
Although these types of diets offer a quick reduction in weight, hollywood fad diets are unhealthy and the weight loss achieved is unsustainable. Your body cannot survive for any length of time when it is deprived food and water. Your body will actually “rebel” and stop losing weight as a protective mechanism so it won’t die. Think of it this way – you could lose a dramatic amount of weight simply by taking part in a 72 hour famine. Is this a practical way to lose weight for the long term? No Way!
The majority of weight that you lose from these hollywood type diets comes back on the very first day that you start eating normal again. Much of the weight that you lose during these hollywood crash diets is water weight. These diets also cause a reduction in muscle mass causing you to look skeletal, not tone and sexy! Hollywood fad diets give you a false sense of hope and are hight unhealthy and toxic to your body.
Hopefully after reading this you will take these hollywood type diets with a grain of salt and save your money. The results they give you will only be temporary and in the end you will be right back where you started if not worse. Save yourself the disappointment. Avoid these types of diets!
