All Inclusive Discount Cruises
Cruises are the ultimate in relaxation. As you travel to some of the most beautiful destinations in the world in total luxury, your troubles start to melt away. Perhaps the one downside to a cruise is the stress and hassle associated with booking it. Although many websites and travel agents have streamlined the process, it is still difficult to plan out your itinerary and stick to a budget. When you’re paying for everything separately, it’s easy for your vacation budget to spiral out of control. And it can be hard to know exactly what kinds of activities and amenities you’ll want to enjoy until you’re actually on the ship.
But an all inclusive discount cruise eliminates that stress. “All inclusive” means that you pay a single price, and all (or most) of your needs are met for the entire time you’re on the ship. You don’t have to pay extra for the things you need — instead, you’re free to eat the foods you want, participate in the activities you enjoy, and otherwise not worry about pinching pennies. All inclusive discount cruises can actually save you hundreds of dollars.
So what exactly is included when you book an all inclusive cruise? That all depends on your vacation package. In some cases, “all inclusive” can be a little misleading, because there are exceptions. Drinks (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic), special private lessons with instructors on the ship, tips, food at certain restaurants, and use of the ship’s phones may not be included in the package.
Sometimes, a ship also limits the menu at their “free” restaurants. For example, you may have to pay extra if you order lobster or Kobe beef. Of course, if the ship has a gift shop, you’ll have to pay for items you purchase there. It’s important to get as many details as you can about what’s included in your vacation package. That way, you can adjust your budget and won’t be surprised with additional charges. Each all inclusive cruise ship is different, so ask about limitations before you book the trip.
Some all inclusive cruise ships don’t accept cash, even for items that aren’t included in the vacation package. So, how do you pay for a mojito or steak dinner? Most cruises give guests a special card that’s linked to your actual credit or debit card. Generally, you won’t have to use this card very often.
One of the benefits of an all inclusive cruise is that you don’t have to carry much money with you. While you’re on vacation, you shouldn’t have to worry about keeping your money secure. All inclusive cruises allow you to keep your money under lock and key in your room’s safe, leaving you free to enjoy the sun.
Discount all inclusive cruises can be sold separately or as part of a larger travel package. Most people prefer to travel to the port city at least a day before departure. While there, you’ll need a hotel room, and you’ll likely want to check out some local activities. With a complete travel package, not only are you getting the all inclusive cruise, but you’re getting your flight, hotel room, and other necessities for one low price as well. The same applies at the end of the cruise. If you want to stay in town for a few days, you can look for travel packages that include accommodations after the ship docks. This can save you a tremendous amount of time and hassle, but it’s important to work with a trusted travel agent to make sure you’re getting accommodations that meet your standards.
Before you book an all inclusive cruise, be sure to compare prices. Keep in mind that an all inclusive cruise isn’t necessarily more affordable than a standard cruise. If you’re not planning on taking full advantage of the ship’s amenities, like racket ball courts, fitness classes, room service, etc., you may be better off paying only for the things you want. That way, you’re not funding Joe’s water skiing lesson when all you really want to do is enjoy a book on the deck.
The bottom line? All inclusive cruises can save you hundreds of dollars, but only if you take full advantage of your time on the ship. This can be a great option for large families with varied interests and tastes. Again, some travelers end up saving money with standard cruise options. Before you book, it’s important to invest some significant time shopping around and researching your options. Think about how you’ll most likely spend your time on the ship. It can be extremely helpful to work with a reputable travel agent who can help you find the best cruise option for you, your family and your budget.
