No one is perfect in this world. May be flaw is minute, but surely it will be. Figure of women is being discussed here. Yes, it is very true that no women have perfect figure. Long waist is one of the flaws. Women having such a waist suffer from the appearance of short legs. But, clothing is the mantra that can overcome any figure flaw. Visually the length of legs can increase even if having such a waist by right clothing. But, at the same time wrong clothing can do just its opposite. * Wear jeans and pants of the length touching the ground. Full-length pants and jeans increase visually the length of legs.
* Layer tops are ultimate wear for long waist women. Also, layer outfits are high in fashion nowadays. Different layers break the silhouette of a long waist and make it appear shorter.
* Short or cropped jackets are absolutely perfect to give illusion of short waist. They take eyes upward and away from the problem area. Nowadays, leather cropped jackets or leather short jackets are highly making waves.
* Wide leather belts are perfect to help visually shorten waist length. On the other hand, narrow belt adds to length.
* Waistline of dress should be given great consideration, as it makes huge difference in personality. Always wear skirts, pants and jeans whose waist should sit at your natural waist or only an inch below it.
* If you are tall and slim with long waist, then dress having horizontal stripes is good for you. It adds to width and takes away attention from length.
* Length of tops and jackets should be till hips. Long outfits add more to length.
* Colors play a great role in hiding the length of waist. Color of shoes and hosiery or socks should be of the same color you are wearing on your bottom half. It elongates the length of legs.

* Stay away from short trousers, Capri’s, etc. as they make legs look even shorter.
* Dropped waist dresses are your biggest enemy. They lengthen the length of waist.
* Empire waist dresses take attention directly to long waist. Thus, do not include them in your clothing items.
* Low waist skirts and jeans should be avoided wearing, as they take eyes more towards the length of waist.
* Belt of same color as your top should be avoided. Remember, you need to break the silhouette rather than holding it.
* Do not wear tops or jackets having vertical stripes, they add to length of waist.
Follow the above guidelines and long waist will no more be a problem for you. They make striking balance between your upper and lower body parts and define your body proportion well. Last but not the least, women giving illusion of what she doesn’t have by right dressing is in true sense worthy to be called ‘fashionista’.
