A successful singer, lyricist, and musician, Avril Lavigne is definitely one hot sexy celebrity every young fan adores. Sporting somewhat a new image with her third album, she’s no longer that tomboyish, tough chick we used to see. Move over Skater Girl, here comes Girlfriend!
Born on September 27, 1984, Avril started singing at the age of two and sang with fellow Canadian superstar Shania Twain at age thirteen. She released her smash hit debut album, Let Go, in 2002. The album has sold over 16 million copies, putting her side by side with the likes of Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera. In 2004, Under My Skin album was released, debuting at number one in the U.S. and in other parts of the globe.
With the hot and sexy singer’s third album, The Best Damn Thing, fans saw the transformation of this punk lady to a move-busting pop princess, via her single Girlfriend. Who would have thought that the serious Avril can also dance? The tough image has somewhat shifted to a girlie, teeny-bopper one, thanks to the bubblegum pop kind of music she showcases in her 2007 album.
People attributed the changes in Avril’s music and personality with her marriage to Deryck Whibley, the lead vocalist of the Canadian band, Sum 41. But despite the new look and attitude, hot and sexy Avril still remains at the top. Only goes to show that fans like what they’re hearing and seeing. She’s a great example of how an artist can manage to reinvent herself without losing her fans’ support and adulation.
